NEWS AND NOTES FOR AUGUST 7th

AUGUST 7th: NEWS & NOTES

Scott Hannan Receiving A Lot Of Interest
Patty B: Scott Hannan is one of the best d-men left on the Free Agent market and it shows by how much interest he is getting from teams around the league. Right now, the leading candidates are the Wild and Panthers, but the Islanders have been in contact with Hannan's agent for a few weeks and they have made it clear that if they can't acquire any top-4 defensemen through the trade market they will have an offer ready for Scott.

Robbie Earl Signs In Russia
Patty BI have followed Robbie Earl's career closely because of this (not gonna lie, after seeing how cocky and arrogant he was I was rooting against him). It looks like his self label of being a "steal" has officially been proven inaccurate as he has signed in the KHL
with Dinamo Riga.

Chris Drury Mulling Over Future
Patty BSupposedly Chris Drury would like to remain in the NY area, and the Isles were supposedly talking to his agent, but apparently they have decided against it. That door seems closed now and it looks as though the most likely path he will be heading down is
retirement.

Drew Doughty Is Not Close To A New Contract
Patty BIt looks as though the Kings and Drew Doughty are really struggling to reach a
deal and now it looks as though Doughty may even hold-out going into the season.

Predators Waive Brett Lebda
Patty BLebda is one of the worst defensemen in the league, and this was pretty expected

Datsyuk Says Lidstrom And Holmström Will Retire After This Season
Patty BThis is pretty interesting, and if its true it'd be a very hard thing for the Wings to overcome next off-season. But, it will provide them with a ton of cap space.
