Jets Claim Antti Miettinen On Waivers From Tampa Bay

The Winnipeg Jets claimed Antti Miettinen on waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning after he signed with them after leaving the KHL. The deal he signed was for two years at $1.5M per year, he also had a No Movement Clause. This is identical to the situation that happened last year between the Islanders and Red Wings, except in this case Miettinen will (most likely) report to Winnipeg with no questions asked. Miettinen played with the Minnesota Wild last season and he put up thirty-five points. During the summer he signed with Kazan Ak-Bars of the KHL, but struggled and only put up 8 points. It will be interesting to see how he acclimates to re-joining the National Hockey League.
