Oilers Sign Hometown Boy, Taylor Fedun, To A 2 Year ELC

Oilers Sign Undrafted College Free Agent, Taylor Fedun.

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenseman Taylor Fedun to a 2 Year Entry Level Contract. The 22 year old Fedun, who was born in Edmonton, has spent the past four years with Princeton of the ECAC. During his senior year he was given the captain duties for the club and according to the coaching staff he handled it very well. One aspect that can be overlooked in a player is brains and Princeton head coach Guy Gadowsky was sure everyone took notice of how smart Fedun really is. During his time at Princeton he majored in engineering and as his senior project he built a hover craft. His style of play is very complete and has little to no downside. On the offensive side of the puck Fedun is patient and skilled which helps him use his great vision to set up teammates or to move the puck up the ice. His shot is accurate and hard as it's been said to be around 98 mph. Defensively he brings toughness and grit which keeps the opposing team's forward's honest.  His incredible play at both sides of the ice is supported by the fact that he is both 2nd in the ECAC in goals by a defenseman with 10 and also leads the league in blocked shots. Having those two stats achieved by the same player is rare.
