Scouting Report:
The son of German ice hockey legend and IIHF Hall of Fame member Erich Kuhnhackl, Tom Kuhnhackl has big shoes to fill but has already started to do so. A smooth and intelligent scorer, Kuhnhackl is tall and lanky and will only get better as he develops his strength and builds muscle. Regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe for the past few years, Kuhnhackl’s development has slowed slightly but he will look to change that by doing something his father never did, coming to North America. All signs point to the younger Kuhnhackl joining the Windsor Spitfires next season.

Montreal Canadiens Sign 2007 Fifth Round Draft Pick, Joe Stejskal to a Two-Year Entry Level Contract
(Taken From: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=556836)

"Montreal Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier announced Tuesday the signing of defenseman Joe Stejskal to a two-year contract (2011-12 to 2012-13). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Stejskal will report to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs. Stejskal has registered five points (3 goals and 2 assists) and served 37 penalty minutes in 33 games this season with the NCAA’s Dartmouth College Big Green. The 6’3’’, 211 lbs defenseman, hailing from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is in his fourth season with Dartmouth College. From 2007 to 2010, Stejskal totaled 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) with 125 penalty minutes in 93 games. The 22-year old played with the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks (high school) from 2004-05 to 2006-07. He led the Thunderhawks to consecutive state playoffs in 2006 and 2007. As team captain in his last season, Stejskal led the club’s defensemen in scoring with 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) and was the recipient of the Herb Brooks Award, awarded to the most qualified hockey player in the state tournament who strongly represents the values, characteristics, and traits that defined Herb Brooks. Stejskal was the Canadiens sixth pick (fifth round, 133rd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He participated in the Canadiens last four Development Camps (2007 to 2010), and in the team’s last three Rookie Camps (2008 to 2010). Stejskal took part in the Canadiens main training camp in the last two seasons (2009 and 2010)."

SCOUTING REPORT:
Stejskal is an excellent puck-moving, two-way defenseman. At 6’2/190, he already has good size and utilizes it to great advantage. He is a very good skater who transitions quite well. One notable attribute about Stejskal is his ability to lay bone-jarring (and often clean) hits. He looks as comfortable offensively as he does defensively and plays both ends of the ice very efficiently. Stejskal possesses a very powerful shot and can get pucks to the net. He is a smart, fierce competitor and has a very good understanding of the game.
