Cumiskey To The Ducks

Avalanche Trade Kyle Cumiskey To The Ducks
The Avalanche Trade Kyle Cumiskey To The Ducks For Jake Newton And A 7th Round Pick In 2013
Reaction:
Kyle Cumiskey was waived by the Avalanche, and the Avs made it clear he was not in their plans. Once the Ducks became aware of his availability, they decided to approach them about acquiring Cumiskey and the Avs were more than happy to oblige. The twenty-four year old defenseman, Cumiskey, has played five NHL seasons. He is a bit undersized, but his excellent mobility and solid hockey sense helps him get by in the NHL. He has nice upside, but he has struggled a bit in the past year or so. The player the Avalanche acquired in return for Cumiskey, was defenseman, Jake Newton. Newton is twenty-three years old and has decent size at 6'3''. In the offensive zone, Newton is not bad, but he has to improve in his own end. That along with the 7th round pick in 2013 makes this a decent deal for the Avalanche.
