Isles Waive Rolston

NY Islanders Finally Waive Brian Rolston:

After a drawn out disappointment of a season the New York Islanders have finally placed Brian Rolston on waivers. The initial decision to acquire Rolston was misguided, but his play was so much worse than even what critics expected. I hate to rip the guy apart, but he showed very little effort and it dragged the rest of his team down in certain instances. Isles fans as of late had become so tired of his poor performances night in and night out, that they'd boo him every time he was in possession of the puck. Despite being the highest paid player on the Islanders he has a minuscule point total of nine in forty-nine games. At the ripe age of thirty-nine years old its beginning to look as though his career has come to an end. Because of the move the Islanders have called-up David Ullstrom, who looked very solid in his last stint at the NHL level.
