Toronto Maple Leafs Acquire: Mark Fraser Anaheim Ducks Acquire: Dale Mitchell |
Review:
As we see frequently, the Anaheim Ducks and the Toronto Maple Leafs have gotten together to complete a minor deal. This time around the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired a twenty-five year old defenseman in Mark Fraser. In-exchange the Leafs sent a twenty-two year old forward named Dale Mitchell to the Anaheim Ducks.
Fraser has bounced around a bit this season, but has played in 98 NHL games in his career so he is some what experienced. He will add a big body to the Toronto Marlies' (Leafs AHL Affiliate) blue-line which should help them make a push for the Calder Cup. The player headed the other way, Dale Mitchell, was drafted in the third-round of the 2007 NHL entry draft. He has spent the majority of this season in the ECHL with the Reading Royals where he’s put up 31 points in 35 games. The Ducks made this trade because they wanted to clear a spot on the defense corps of their American Hockey League Affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
