Wild Make Marek Zidlicky A Healthy Scratch
The drama surrounding Marek Zidlicky is officially at its peak. After repeatedly requesting a trade in public, the Minnesota Wild have decided to scratch the thirty-five year old defenseman for tonights game and presumably every game until they can work out a trade to move him to another club. Although it's been confirmed that Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher is currently shopping Zidlicky, the decision to keep him out of the line-up appears to be the decision of head coach Mike Yeo. While explaining his reasoning to Wild beat writer, Michael Russo, Yeo said:
"I'm making an assumption that (Zidlicky's) head would not be in the right place to play this game tonight."
He also mentioned that he believes that Zidlicky has been a bad influence on his teammates and that he was not willing to play the way Wild coaches and management expect.
