- Kirill Kabanov Bruised Wrist (Day to Day)
-- The Islanders announced today that Mark Streit is going to be the team's captain this season. He is the 13th captain in Islanders history and will be expected to lead this young group into the playoffs. He is also the first swiss born captain in NHL history, so there is a certain amount of pride that will come along with this.
