D- Bobby Sanguinetti (Hurricanes):  He is an NHL ready defenseman who has a lot of potential. Honestly on most teams, he'd probably be in their top-six defense corps, but because the Canes are deep on the back-end he got pushed down the depth chart. With Jurcina's recent injury, I think it might be a smart move by the Isles to grab him. He could be that value-type pick-up the Isles always love to grab.

RW- Jerome Samson (Hurricanes):  For two years straight he put up more than a PPG in the AHL, and has looked decent in his call-up appearances. He hasn't been able to transfer his AHL offensive abilities to the NHL yet, but he is still young. Luckily for him, he provides more than just offense...he is an energetic forward who is always moving his feet and going into dirty areas on the ice to win the puck.

Claimed Off Waivers (Waived 9/28)

RW- Nick Johnson (Waived By Penguins)(Claimed By Wild)-- He is NHL ready for sure, and he is going to be a decent depth player for the Wild. He works hard and has good hands, but is a bit on the older side for a rookie at 25 years old. I expect him to see some time on the Wild's 3rd line, and I believe he will do a good job with them. The loss of Nick Johnson for the Penguins is not devastating, but it definitely hurts their wing depth. They might sign or trade for a minor league/fringe NHL type winger.
