To Minnesota: Dany Heatley
To San Jose: Martin Havlat
Review:
In another blockbuster trade, the Sharks and Wild have made a big one-for-one deal. Thirty-year old, Dany Heatley was sent to the Wild. Heatley has been an interesting player in his NHL career, who at one time was a 100 point scorer, but in recent years has declined just a little bit. Despite that, there is absolutely no denying that he still is an impact player. I have a feeling he will strive in Minnesota and hopefully he can return to his 80+ point days. His conditioning is a bit of a concern especially considering how much the Wild will rely on him for consistent offense. The Wild did have to give up a very good player for Heatley, in Martin Havlat. Havlat doesn't have the goal scoring ability that Heatley does, but is a very good playmaker and has more of a presence all over the ice. He is quick and seems to provide a bit of energy whenever he is on the ice. I like this deal for both teams and it gives everyone what they need.
