NHL Rumor Update: July 15, 2011

Leafs & Coyotes Swapping Prospects?
According to a blogger on hockeybuzz (not Eklund), the Toronto Maple Leafs and Phoenix Coyotes are nearing a blockbuster one-for-one trade. Supposedly the Leafs would send Nazem Kadri to the Yotes for Kyle Turris. These two guys are both highly skilled prospects that are considered future NHL'ers but in my opinion, Kyle Turris will be the better of the two and it really won't be too close. If this rumor ends up being true, Toronto will have made another steal on the trade market.

Campoli Done As A Blackhawk
The Blackhawks have signed Sami Lepisto and its all but official that they will be letting Chris Campoli walk. Whether it be through the trade market or straight up rejected his arbitration reward, he will not be back in a Blackhawk sweater...it still boggles my mind that Snow was able to get a first round pick for him.

Islanders Rumors
The Islanders seem to be in the midst of quite a few rumors, so I'll give a run-down:

-In the past two weeks I have heard a lot of talk regarding Josh Bailey. Supposedly the Isles have started to explore trade possibilities involving Josh. His value is probably at the lowest its ever been, but if they get a good enough offer don't be surprised if he is moved.

-According to incarceratedbob, the Islanders and Habs have been negotiating a deal on-and-off for a few weeks which would send Gomez to the Islanders. He elaborated on it by saying that it would be a way for the Isles to get to the floor and the Habs would throw in a decent defenseman to make it worthwhile for the Isles.

-There are rumors going around that the Isles will throw a huge offer sheet at Drew Doughty. Now as much as I would love to get Doughty on the Isles, its impractical and I don't think Snow is the type of guy that would make that move.
