Short-Term Status:
With his contract expiring I highly doubt that he will be brought back. If he is, it would on a two-way deal which would primarily have him being used in Bridgeport as an 8-9th depth defenseman. If that ended up being the case I would be content with it, but if he is brought back as an NHL defenseman for our top 6, its would be an awful decision.
Long-Term Status:
I think its safe to say Bruno doesn't really have any long-term future with the Isles. I would be surprised if he is re-signed or even qualified.

Review:
Bruno Gervais had an awful year last season, and although he was not good this year it was an improvement; a small one but still an improvement never-the-less. Now although there was times he was decent, he for the most part seemed overwhelmed and out of sync with the rest of the team. His biggest flaw was his poor decision making which seems to be most common when the team is transitioning from defense to offense and is breaking out of their own zone. He would consistently get caught out of position and flat footed when and if the team turned the puck over on that transition. He had the worst plus/minus of all current Isles defensemen with a -14 and only put up 6 points. At times this year he also played a little bit up front on forward which also shows that the team was just looking for a place to stick him.
Season Grade (A+ to F-): D-
Not impressive enough to earn a qualifying offer in my opinion.
