Tyler McNeely Impressive With Bridgeport:
A few weeks back the Bridgeport Sound Tigers signed Forward Tyler McNeely to an Amateur Try-Out with very little fan fair but in 10 games for them he proved to be a clutch big time player. He had 11 points in 10 games and provided the Tigers with a player that is willing to do anything for his team. The 24 year old McNeely has played the past four years at Northeastern University and was a key contributor throughout it all. His skating is quick and he uses it to his advantage by reading the play and getting to where he needs to be. I have also been pretty impressed with his vision which seems to have translated to the pro game seamlessly. He also has a very different aspect to his game which really sets him apart from others, and that aspect is his willingness to go to the dirty area's on the ice and play with a gritty mentality. His size may be a bit lacking but he makes up for it with heart. What I love about him also is his ability to play in every situation, he is a solid penalty killer and is decent defensively. In my time watching him, he looks terrific at the AHL level and it seems like his playing style is just perfectly built for the pro game. I really hope Garth Snow decides to sign him to a contract.
