Brandon Burlon Leaves The University Of Michigan
"Defenseman Brandon Burlon has informed the Devils that he is leaving the University of Michigan to turn professional, general manager Lou Lamoriello confirmed today. Burlon is expected to sign with the Devils soon, but Lamoriello said “it will take some time” before the entry-level contract is completed. “That’s a decision he made,” Lamoriello said of Burlon leaving Michigan. “There’s no question he’s a prospect. He feels he’s ready, but only time will tell"
Devils GM Lou Lamoriello confirmed that 2008 pick Brandon Burlon has informed the team that he is leaving U. Michigan.
PattyB Thoughts:
Burlon is a solid prospect, but in my opinion he needed more time at the University of Michigan. He is far from NHL ready and from Lou Lamoriello's quotes, it seems as though he feels the same way. He will need a decent amount of time in the minors to round out his game.
