2010-11 Season Stats:

Bridgeport Sound Tigers       AHL:  GP: 59 G: 16 A: 32 P: 48  PIM: 42

Short-Term Status:
He is a RFA this off-season, but has already signed in Austria for next year. The Islanders, if they wanted to, could send him a qualifying offer. If they did that, he would obviously reject it because he already signed elsewhere but if he ever decided to come back to North America, the Isles would hold his rights.

Long-Term Status:
To be honest, I am not sure. He was solid in the AHL this year and I thought somewhere down the line, he might be an NHL'er in some capacity.

Review:
Rob Hisey has had a very interesting career as he has bounced around to many different leagues and teams. At just 26, he has played in the OHL, UHL, ECHL,  SM-liiga, DEL, Austria league, Elitserien, Germany 3, and the AHL, with a total of 14 different teams. You would think a player that has bounced around that much, would not be too good, but surprisingly he has put up decent numbers where ever he has went. Despite playing well this year, Hisey has already signed in Austria for next season, so he will not be playing in the Islanders organization next year which is a bit of a disappointment. He was surprisingly good for the Sound Tigers as his stats were very impressive. He had the 2nd most assists on the team with 32 and the 2nd most total points as well with 48. His offensive game was outstanding mainly due to his shifty, fast style that enables him to take advantage of the extra room available in the AHL game. I'm interested to see if the Isles qualify him to retain his rights because I think he is a solid top-6 forward in the AHL which can be valuable for a minor league team thats been struggling.

Season Grade (A+ to F-)
: B
I was not expecting much from him, but he was able put up some very impressive numbers. He became one of the Sound Tigers' most important players and was used in many different situations.
