2010-11 Season Stats:

Bridgeport Sound Tigers       AHL:  GP: 67 G: 7 A: 12 P: 19  PIM: 56

Short-Term Status:
He has one more year left on his current contract so he will be playing for the Sound Tigers next season and will most likely get decent minutes. This upcoming year is extremely important in his career as he will have to get at least 30 points if he wants a new contract.

Long-Term Status:
As of right now, he doesn't have too much NHL potential. Of coarse there is the outside chance he makes it as a bottom-six forward, but most likely he will be minor league depth for most of his career. Personally I would really like to see him make the pros because I love to see guys from Long Island do well in the NHL, so it will be something to keep an eye on next season.

Review:
Tony Romano is one of only a handful of players who were raised on Long Island, but its far from a sure thing that he will be successful enough to reach the level that some other Long Islander's have gotten to (Higgins, Komisarek). The Islanders acquired him back in the 2009 off-season and his first season with the organization was not the best as he bounced between the AHL and ECHL. This season however, he took a permanent role with Bridgeport and although he wasn't outstanding, he was a capable 3rd liner for sure. He has some speed and as he showed in Juniors, he does have some scoring potential. Next season I would keep my eye on him because steadily he has gotten better and better each year and, if he is given the opportunity, he may have the type of season he needs.

Season Grade (A+ to F-)
: C+
He had a solid season, nothing special, but still something positive. He didn't look out of place this season, while last season he did, so its an obvious improvement.
