The Capitals have re-signed Matt Hendricks to a two-year extension worth $1.6 million with a cap hit of about $800k. He started out on a tryout basis in training camp and in less than 6 months has become an everyday NHL player and fan favorite for the Capitals.

Shane Hnidy has joined the Bruins on their road trip on a tryout basis with the club, he will try and win over the coaching staff and earn a NHL contract.

The Anaheim Ducks have recalled Goaltender Ray Emery, this will be very interesting to see how he is able to play returning to the NHL especially with the positive reviews of his play in the AHL. Tonight though, he is not expected to start but he should get a shot in the near future.
