Flyers Closing In On A 5 Year Deal With Bryzgalov

Flyers And Bryzgalov Nearing Long-Term Contract?
A few hours ago "Flyersguru" tweeted "Just been told the Flyers have framework in place for a contract with goalie Ilya Bryzgalov. Looks to be a 5 year deal, no $ info yet.". Most Flyers fans right now are praying that this is true and in the past half-hour or so, there has been many reports released confirming the deal. Probably the most significant was from Flyers beat writer, Sam Carchidi who was talking on Comcast Sportsnet. He mentioned that according to his sources, a deal is indeed in place and verbally agreed upon. The numbers he was hearing were around $5.5 Million per season. He also mentioned the Flyers must wait until July 1st, to announce the signing officially, because come that day they will be allowed to be over the salary cap until the start of next season. That will give the Flyers ample time to move out a high priced piece with out rushing a trade where they don't get what they want. If this report is true, its absolutely gigantic for the Philadelphia Flyers. This team has been with out a legit number one goalie for a decade and if they were able to get Ilya Bryzgalov, who is one of the premier goaltenders in the league, they would finally get the type of guy they've been looking for. I believe this would put them over the top and make them the instant favorites to win the Stanley Cup next season.

Also thought this was hilarious, so you guys should all check it out....
