Rights To Ehrhoff Traded Again, Wisniewski's Rights Traded As Well

ISLANDERS-SABRES TRADE
To Islanders:
4th Round Draft Pick In 2012
To Sabres:
Rights To Christian Ehrhoff

Review:
I am very happy about this, mainly due to the fact that the negotiations between the Isles and Ehrhoff reportedly had broken down very much so. When I heard that, I thought the Islanders had lost that fourth rounder for literally nothing. Fortunately, Garth Snow was able to find a deal to get the Isles investment back in the form of a fourth round pick from the Sabres. In the end, if the Isles finish better than the Sabres, they may actually have ended this whole ordeal with a higher draft pick than what they started out with.

CANADIENS-BLUE JACKETS TRADE
To Montreal:
7th Round Draft Pick in 2012
Condition: If signed 7th round pick turns into a 5th Round Pick In 2012
To Columbus:
Rights To James Wisniewski

Review:
Wisniewski is a solid defenseman and having him added to the Blue Jackets blue line would really help them. That offense that he provides is unique and will help there power play incredibly. It will be interesting, to say the least, to see if they will end up getting him under contract. Even if they can't, its not the end of the world if they lose the 7th rounder they moved for him.
