Semin To Islanders Rumors Coming Up Again

Is Alex Semin The Top Line Winger The Islanders Have Been Looking For To Play With John Tavares?

Earlier this year there were rumors going around that the Islanders were interested in acquiring Alexander Semin from the Capitals. At one point the rumors became so intense that some believed a deal was imminent. After a few weeks, the speculation died down, but according to "HockeyBreak" on Twitter, the Islanders interest in Semin is real. They stated that both the Islanders and Senators are trying to put deals together to acquire him. The fact that his contract expires next year is the real indicator as to why this is a bit flawed and why I am not 100% sold on it. I mean I would expect the Capitals to be looking for a decent return for a guy who has one hell of an offensive game, and I don't believe the Isles would be willing to give up anything of value for a guy who can leave after next season. Regardless, it will be an interesting story line to watch for the next few weeks.
