June 29th, 2011-News And Notes:

-The Penguins are contacting every NHL team and are offering up the rights to Mike Rupp. I don't believe they will find any takers, but this just proves he will not be back.

-The Montreal Canadiens recently offered Roman Hamrlik a one-year deal, which he rejected and made it known that he is seeking a longer term around 2-4 years.

-Cam Barker cleared waivers, but supposedly he was not put on unconditional waivers which means he can't be bought out for 1/3 by Thursday. So that raised a few eye brows and the most likely reason for that would be they found a team that might be interesting in acquiring him.

-Tomas Kaberle will be testing the market on July 1st.

Hurricanes re-sign Chad Larose (2 yrs, $1.7M cap hit) ‎
Avalanche re-sign David Jones (1 yr, $2.5M cap hit)
